Even More Collage Cards!
A continuation of my post from March this year, here are some more handmade cards with collage designs. The March post covered cards from 2019-2023, so we’ll pick up where we left off with the beginning of 2024:
Hatchling
Made for my dinosaur-loving sister’s birthday in Winter 2024, I’m particularly pleased with how this surprisingly simple card turned out. The card shapes were supplemented with fineliner and pencil for outlines, shading and face detail, and acrylic pen for the little white teeth.
Blues & Yellows
This one was made in Winter 2024 for my grandma, a nature lover who has always liked the colours yellow and blue together. I am particularly fond of this one’s use of special sparkly paper for the forget-me-nots! Flower details were done in pencil, fineliner and acrylic pen, and the lettering was done in ballpoint.
Lucky Loong
My nan is a big fan of Chinese dragons, as they are supposed to symbolise good fortune, so I made her this card for her birthday in Spring 2024. This was a particularly fun one to make with all its different layers. Acrylic pens and my special shiny felt tips were used for the mane, spines and other details
Blast Off!
This one, in a more cartoony style, was made for my mum’s birthday in Spring 2024 - the same space-themed birthday when I gave my mum the X-Wing pilot doll. Another opportunity to use my shiny felt tips for the stars, rocket flames and little alien friends!
A Walk With Mother
This mother-daughter duo teddy bears featured on the card I made for Mother’s Day 2024, as they take their walk along a tree-lined path. Felt tips were used for the clouds and most distant pair of trees, and extra details are added in pencil.
Boop!
This design of a mother and baby dolphin was given as a Mother’s Day card this year (2026). This was my first attempt at a mosaic design with collage paper, accentuated by outlines in fineliner.
That’s all for now for collage cards, but stay tuned for some cards designs in other media!
Happy Crafting!
